NWO, through the Merian Fund, and the research council of the state of São Paulo (FAPESP) work together in the Cooperation Brazil (FAPESP) programme to stimulate Brazil-Dutch collaboration in research, by funding joint research by inter- and transdisciplinary teams of Dutch and Brazilian researchers and stakeholders.
Within this program researchers from Leiden University, University of Campinas, Adib Jatene Foundation and Delft University of Technology work together to solve the problem of biofilm formation in the silicone t-tubes that are used to keep the airways open of patients with a central airway disease.
